Make Your Business Dreams Come True With Marie Forleo’s B-School

Project Me was originally a book idea, nothing more. It came to me in a vision when I was writing out my goals in January 2012. But it soon dawned on me that it was going to be damn hard to get a book publishing deal with absolutely no platform. No website, so social media - NOTHING. Why would a publisher be interested in what I had to say?

I was fortunate enough to stumble across my business mentor Marie Forleo a year later. I began watching her videos and loved her passion for teaching women how to reach for their dreams and create businesses and lives they love.

Marie runs an online training programme called B-School (aka Business School) that teaches you, step-by-step, how to build and grow a business through authentic online marketing strategies, unique branding, and (non-slimey!) approaches to sell whatever you’re selling - be that products or services. She helps you to truly understand who your dream customers are so you can provide what they need and want from you - and she shows you how to reach them and turn them into loyal clients or customers.

Of course, I know all of that now, but back then - I didn’t really get it. I'd only heard about Marie Forleo's B-School a couple of days before registration was about to close. It only runs once a year and if I didn’t do it then I’d have to wait another whole year. It looked like exactly the training I needed - but it cost $2,000. (Gulp.) This felt like a BIG deal to me so I showed it to my husband and he immediately agreed that it looked like something I should do.

I took a very deep breath, signed up with shaking hands, and then immediately began jumping around the house singing, ‘I’m going to B-School!’ to the delight of my bewildered kids! I was beyond excited and I didn’t even know yet then how much it was going to positively change my life.

The course is six modules run over the course of eight weeks, so there’s plenty of time for implementing. Of course I didn’t even have a website yet - or a mailing list or social media platform, so I took it all in, did the worksheets and mapped out my game plan.

Marie Forleo is the real deal. She’s authentic, genuine, knowledgeable - and surrounds herself with a team of customer support that are second to none. She’s not out to take your money and run away with it, (like someone else I had the misfortune of trusting), she genuinely wants you to succeed. During B-School she runs office hours when you can call and have a chat about anything in the course you might be struggling with. Marie is the model I hold my own business standards up to.
