I know this for myself. A little admission to make… I was not always the productivity chick that I am today. My kids are teenagers now, but when they were small I was running around like a headless chicken. I had to-do lists in my head, I had them on scraps of paper, I had them on backs of envelopes. I’m a real list maker. But my lists were all over the place. And everyday I was just doing whatever was in front of my face – with no real solid game plan. Or I would try something and it would work for a short while, and then I would just be back to square one again.
My house was a cluttered mess, my brain was a cluttered mess. I procrastinated. All of that stuff that I hear you guys talk about all the time. This was me too! So, the first step was for me to move over to a digital app so I could just type in my tasks and projects once and I didn’t have to re-write them over and over again. But of course what happens is the list just got longer and longer. And things fall more and more to the bottom. And I still felt like everyday I was looking at this massive list of different things I could be doing and just kind of picking and choosing what felt easiest and most fun at any given time. And then still leaving the things that are really important to the last minute! Does any of this sound familiar?
